The Noontootla Rainbow - One of a series of three species of trout inspired knives. Perfect to take along on your favorite trout stream.
Rustic knives with native North American wood handles*. All knives are designed and cut from steel then drilled and forged to hardness. Wooden scales are shaped to fit each unique design, pinned, epoxied in place, and finished with several coats of Tung oil. Each knife comes with a novel sheath (see below). From kitchen utensils to a tool you can use in the field, these knives are created for purpose.
*Or bone or antler
*The Opinels are purchased and then the handles are hand carved, stained, and finished.

Made with dry, calloused, and progressively arthritic hands in the North Georgia mountains. This obsession began with carving simple Amazon-ordered basswood blocks. It then turned into carving backyard sticks. Soon, this hobby morphed into the beautiful steel and local wood incorporated knives. All products are one-of-a-kind. Feel free to ask me anything.

About the knife sheaths. These are not meant to be functional out on the high seas in the stormy gales on a solo Atlantic voyage in a homemade wooden skiff. They simply protect the blade (and your delicate phalanges) when not in use. Each sheath is made out of a meticulously chosen hardback book cover coated in multiple layers of Polyurethane. They’re meant to be aesthetically pleasing, clever, and functional (clever is subject to interpretation). Hey. If you have a special hardback novel you’d like me to dissect and use for your precious blade, ship it and I’ll oblige.
